Valentines - Youth Mission Trip Fundraiser

On Sunday, February 5th and Sunday Feb 12, the Youth Mission Team will be selling specially decorated Valentines.  Orders may be placed at a table in the education building before and after Sunday School and after the 10:45 Service. 

Plan to pick up your Valentine to give to someone special or you can ask that it be delivered during Sunday School on Sunday, February 12th.  The cost for each Valentine is a donation to the Youth summer mission trip.  Contact Tim Kennedy or Matthew Connor for more information.

On Sunday, January 15th we began a new message series, "Living a Timeless Faith in a Changing World."  Each week we will look at different events in our world and how they speak to us as Christians.  January 15th message was "Tebowing for Jesus."

District Leadership Conference

The District Leadership Conference for the High Point District will be held on February 12 at Central UMC in Asheboro.  Classes offered include the following:  Lay Leader, Staff-Parish Relations Committee, Finance/Treasurers, Vital Evangelism, Trustees, Preventing and Resolving Conflict, Older Adult Ministries, IMPACT! Day.

Senior Lunch for February and March

Senior lunch is from 11:30am - 12:30pm.
 
The menu for Wednesday, February 15th will be Chicken & Rice Soup, Sandwiches,  Congealed Salads.

The menu for March Wed the 21st  will be Chicken Cassrole, Broccoli Slaw, Beets.

Search & Reflect Soup & Sandwich Luncheon

Mark your calendars! Soup’s On!  The Search & Reflect Soup & Sandwich Luncheon will be held on Sunday, February 19th, 2012.

Come & enjoy the goodness of yummy soups and joyous fellowship!

Food will be served after Sunday School (9:30am) and after the 2nd service(11:45am).

Donations Accepted.

All proceeds go towards missions.

"Country Dinner" - Fundraiser for Youth Mission

The youth mission team of Archdale UMC will be serving a "Country Dinner" on Saturday, February 25th from 4:30 until 7pm in the fellowship hall. The menu will include pinto beans, mashed taters, cole slaw, cornbread, desserts, and of course, sweet tea.


Cost is by donation which will help fund the youth mission trip to Copperhill TN.


Please invite friends to come out and support the 2012 youth mission team.

Thru the Roof Lock-In and OverNight at Mount Shepherd

Team building, fun, food, fellowship, and evening devotional.

We will meet at AUMC at 1:30pm on Saturday March 3rd and will return on Sunday march 4th by 1:00pm.

Cost will be $30.00 per person. This includes dinner on Saturday night prepared by the Mt. Shepherd cook staff.

We will be staying overnight and attending a Worship service Sunday morning at Mt. Shepherd UMC Details of "What to Bring" will be sent later.

I must have a Church Activity Form AND a Mt. Shepherd Liability Release form completed and turned in along with your $30.00.

The deadline will be February 12th, 2012.   Space is limited to 26 youth and 4 adults.  Reservations will be taken on a first come first serve basis.

METHODIST MEN BRUNSWICK STEW - March 3

Orders are now being accepted for the delicious Brunswick stew made by the Methodist Men.  Call the church office at 431-7111 to place your order at a cost of $7 per quart.  The stew will be available for pick up on Saturday, March 3rd from 12pm – 5:00pm in the Fellowship Hall and also on Sunday,  March 4th after the each of the worship services or after Sunday school.   (Note:  Stew will not be available for Friday pick-up)

METHODIST MEN HARDWOOD COALS BBQ - April 14

Mark your calendars for our delicious BBQ Buffet set for Saturday, April 14 from 11am to 7pm.  The buffet will feature BBQ, Baked Beans, Slaw, Rolls, Dessert and Drink for a cost of only $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 4-12 and children ages 3 and under eat for free.  Carry-outs will be available through out the day.  The Youth and Methodist Men would appreciate your support for their church related projects.

Names and Address' for Deployed Service members

Many times we have been called by other organizations who have collected items for the deployed military and don't have names and addresses to send them to. AUMC has many deployed without addresses listed. If you can help, please send the Name and address of any of our deployed troops that you may know. Please include their relationship to you also if possible. There is a church in Thomasville wanting names and addresses. The woman who called said they are an old congrigation and don't know any deployed. It is a shame that we cannot connect these groups to the soldiers from our church. CONGRATULATIONS

At the recent annual gathering of the Western North Carolina annual conference, Archdale UMC was one of ten churches to receive the Faithful Steward award. Sponsored by the United Methodist Foundation, this honor was presented to churches that satisfied a variety of criteria concerning financial stewardship.

Need a Study Bible?

Need a study Bible but can't afford one.  Visit http://www.e-sword.net where you can download free bible software.  The software comes with King James Version, King James Version w/Strongs numbers and Strongs Dictionary.  There are many other Bible versions available for free, plus some for a some fee.  This Bible is completely seachable and will allow you to view different Bible versions side-by-side.
