Prayer and Praise

The Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory,
Forever. Amen.

He started his journey as an unknown carpenter, but Joseph became the earthly father of Jesus. For his part in the nativity story, he faced a situation much like our own–encountering life circumstances he didn’t choose or understand. In Faithful, Hamilton encourages readers to follow Joseph’s example during this Advent and Christmas season, and exchange doubt for courage as we learn to accept and glorify

DECEMBER SERVICES
We will have a churchwide breakfast on Sunday, December 17th at 9am in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your favorite breakfast dish and enjoy a time of sharing and food with everyone at AUMC. Following breakfast at10am in the Sanctuary, the Cantata “ A Shepherd’s Tale” will be presented. Immediately after the Cantata, the children will present a program. These should last approximately one hour.

We will have all three services on Sunday, Dec. 24th (the 9am Worship, 10am Sunday School and 11am Casual Worship). The Christmas Eve Communion and Candle Light Service will be from 7-8pm.

We will not have a breakfast on December 31st. We will have our services as usual.
The Sunday Morning United Methodist Women will not meet in December
The United Methodist Men will not meet in December.

AUMC CHRISTMAS POST OFFICE
The Christmas mailbox will be on the table outside the Wesley Room where you can “mail” your Christmas cards to church members. To make sorting easier, put the receiver’s name and SS Class as the intended address. Put the sender’s name as the return address. If the cards are not picked up, they will be returned to the sender. The cards will NOT be mailed through the postal system. Bring cards on Dec. 3, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17.
